One day at a time!
As a new grad nurse I always feel like I’m comparing myself to more senior and skilled nurse. And no surprise, I always find myself lacking! But at times like this I remind myself, I am not the same today, as I was yesterday.
Growth is slow and sometimes hard to see, but when I think back on when I first started compared to today, I know that I’ve come a long way! Senior nurses have had years to learn, while I’ve only had months. With more experience and practice I know I’ll be at the level one day also.
Let’s keep up the new grad power!!

Today is Day 4 of working this week and I am absolutely exhausted😩. At times like this, getting out of bed in the morning is nearly impossible! *Hint to the wise* Never work four 12 hour shifts in a row! I can hear my bed telling me “baby, don’t go” and that is exactly what I want to do. So, what do I do when I’m unmotivated to go to work?
3. Listen to a funny podcast or YouTube video as I get up and ready 📱
4. Have a big steaming cup of coffee ready for me once I leave the bed☕️
5. Treat myself to an amazing breakfast 🥞 🍳
6. Drive extra slow to work🚗
7. Tell myself that “The rainbow always comes after the rain. Great things are awaiting me” and that I have the next 3 days off😎
